Antique Rococo/Louis XV style gilt wooden frame, with glass and “P. Tillemans” plaque – 41 x 47 cm

Elegant decorative frame in Rococo / Louis XV style, richly embellished with a refined arrangement of scrolls, leafy motifs, curls, and small floral details on the corners and along the sides. The overall appearance is highly decorative and theatrical, with a distinctly French taste, making it ideal for displaying paintings, prints, miniatures, antique photographs, or small panel artworks.

The structure appears to be made of shaped and gilded wood, with relief decoration on the outer band and a beautiful sloping inner liner in a lighter tone, creating visual depth and naturally drawing the eye inward. The gilding shows an attractive timeworn patina, with light wear, rubbing, and darker aged areas that enhance the authentic decorative charm of the piece.

The frame is fitted with front glass, and on the lower inner edge there is a small metal plaque inscribed “P. Tillemans”, an interesting detail that should be considered part of the object. The reverse shows a solid wooden construction with a simple, handcrafted fastening system.
