An elegant pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain vases of Gu-form (beaker shape) with flared rims and bulbous central sections. The vases are decorated in a vibrant underglaze cobalt blue with the traditional "Double Happiness" (Shuangxi) characters, a motif synonymous with celebration and marital bliss. The characters are set against a dense, continuous background of scrolling "Sweet Pea" (Wan Shou) vines and blossoms, representing longevity and the interconnectedness of generations. The mid-section is further accented by a classic Greek key (Meander) border, adding a structural elegance to the foliate design. Condition Report Vase 1: Excellent condition; no chips, cracks, or restorations. Vase 2: Features fine glaze age-cracks/crazing localized at the bottom (please refer to photos for detail). No structural repairs. Both vases show minor wear consistent with age, including firing spots and typical kiln grit on the unglazed footrims.
