Very fine antique 14-piece fish service comprising 6 knives, 6 forks, and 2 serving pieces (one large knife and one large fork). Total weight: 431 g. Large serving knife: 25.5 × 2 cm Large serving fork: 21 × 2 cm Knives: 20.5 × 1.5 cm Forks: 17 × 1.5 cm All pieces bear the lion passant hallmark, guaranteeing sterling silver (925). The 6 knives and 6 forks are hallmarked H.G : Hugh Gordon, a British silversmith active circa 1821–1848. The two serving pieces are marked W.G&S : William Greenwood & Sons, an English manufacturer from the early 20th century. The blades are richly engraved with floral motifs. The handles are made of an antique composite material designed to imitate natural materials.
