德国 - “Gold gab ich für Eisen” 徽章和怀表链 - 军用配件 - 1916
A set of German World War I patriotic commemorative items, consisting of a cast-iron medal and a matching watch chain. These items were given to citizens who donated their gold jewelry or coins to help fund the German war effort.
Medal: Obverse: Depicts a kneeling female figure offering her jewelry for the fatherland. Above her is the inscription "IN EISERNER ZEIT" (In Iron Times), and at the bottom is the date "1916". Reverse: Features the central inscription: "GOLD GAB ICH ZUR WEHR, EISEN NAHM ICH ZUR EHR" (I gave gold for defense, I took iron for honor). Shows signs of surface oxidation (rust) and wear consistent with its age and material.
Watch Chain: A 45 cm long-link iron chain featuring two decorative central plaques. One plaque displays the year 1916 and the slogan "GOLD ZUR WEHR - EISEN ZUR EHR". The second plaque features the Imperial Eagle (Reichsadler). The chain is fitted with a spring-loaded lobster clasp and a swivel hook for attachment. The chain retains its original archival/museum inventory tag (number 47873). In mint/near-mint condition, exceptionally well-preserved.
Will be properly packaged and shipped with Track & Trace.
