Historical Note
During the reign of Shapur II, the Sasanian Empire expanded eastward into regions corresponding to modern Afghanistan and Pakistan, including Kabulistan. The establishment of mints such as Kabul (Mint IX) reflects the consolidation of imperial authority in these areas, supporting both administration and trade. Coins like this illustrate the integration of these regions into the Sasanian economic and political system.
