A robust and very lustrous specimen of pyrite featuring well-defined beveled cubic crystals with interesting surface micro textures and minor chalcopyrite surface growths that are aesthetically set over a matrix of massive pyrite with spiky quartz and calcite tufts that act as very contrastful accents to the composition. Pyrites from Ancash have long been held as the best of the Americas, and along with the Spanish pieces from Navajún, they hold the podium for the best in the world.
