A quite unusual combination of materials. Bone was seldom used on feather fans. This fan dating from around 1900 has a monture of polished bone with white ostrich feathers. Though bone was not a high end material this fan was made with exclusive intentions. The spines are made togetter with the sticks. In cheaper fans they were seperately added, either in bone or wood. Note there are some flaws. But in a general very good condition.
