A fine full-size (4/4) violin, bearing the label: “David Tecchler, liutaro, fecit Romae anno 1712.”
The instrument is in ready-to-play condition and has been well maintained over time. It shows natural signs of age such as surface wear and varnish marks, which contribute to its authentic antique character, yet it remains free from cracks. The violin is fitted with a quality ebony setup, a finely crafted master bridge, and new strings, ensuring excellent playability.
The top is made of high-quality medium-grained spruce, while the two-piece back is crafted from softly flamed maple. The ribs, neck, and scroll are well matched, demonstrating careful workmanship and aesthetic harmony. The instrument is finished in a rich golden-amber varnish, which beautifully enhances the natural figure of the wood and reflects the fine choice of materials.
Measurements are as follows: total length 587 mm, back length 354 mm; upper bouts 164 mm, middle bouts 113 mm, lower bouts 197 mm.
Tonally, the violin is highly impressive, offering a powerful yet refined sound. It combines warmth, sweetness, and richness with strong projection, making it particularly suitable for solo performance.
