Le Beix mine, near the Herment village, was operated from the end of the XIXth century to 1977 and is the most famous blue fluorite locality in the country. Shortly after the shut down in 1977-1979, a group of miners extracted several pockets of blue fluorite before these treasures became totally inaccessible: these finds were source for a number of very nice specimens and made this small fluor mine internationally famous. This is a good colour fluorite specimen featuring large rich sky to sea blue crystals, with delicate outer yellow zoning!
