The Scapa Distillery is located near Kirkwall, in the Orkney Archipelago in Scotland. Founded in 1885 by Macfarlane & Townsend, it was acquired and rebuilt in the 1950s by Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd (now a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard). Its production was suspended in 1994, then it closed its doors definitively in 2004. During this period, the Scapa 12 year old was the most widespread version.
