A diverse collection of locally produced glass beads from Ghana. These beads were produced by grinding-up glass bottles and re-using this powdered glas into new beads. These were produced in traditional kilns. The large white glass beads presented here have fine lines of inserted brown and blue glass.(lenght. 28 mm.) Other beads are uni-colour. On the other rope a nice collection of brightly coloured beads is to be found. Sometimes glass drops or lines are put on the beads, almost like a painting.(Apprx. 14 mm.) These Ashanti beads are quite typical for Ghanaian glass-making in the 1980-90`s. Collected in Kumasi in the 1990`s. In all an interesting selection for a collector.!
