This is "In the Still Life," a collection of works by American photographer Charles H. Traub (1945-). Having studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he has captured the everyday life of cities and the gestures of people in vibrant colors since the 1970s. Through diverse series such as his early "Beach," "Lunchtime" which captures urban crowds, and "Dolce Via" documenting Italy in the 1980s, he has explored the art of chance encounters and composition. This book is a re-edited collection of snapshots taken over twenty years during his travels and in the midst of everyday life, long stored away in a box. By encapsulating trivial clashes and unexpected juxtapositions that occur on street corners within the frame like still lifes, these improvisational moments emerge, taking on new relationships.
