Mauro Veglio is a quality‑focused Barolo and Barbera producer based in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe hills of Piedmont. Barbera d’Alba from Mauro Veglio is made from 100% Barbera grapes grown on hillside vineyards in the Langhe, harvested from cooler exposures and younger vines to preserve freshness and fruit. The wine is vinified in stainless steel and, depending on parcel, may see a short ageing in oak, giving notes of sour cherry, plum and red berries with lively acidity and moderate body. With long bottle ageing, older vintages can develop tertiary aromas of dried fruit, leather and sweet spices while retaining the typical Barbera juiciness.
