These five mortars were purchased in Afghanistan in the 1970's but most were likely made in India at the end of the 19th century or early 20th. One mortar is from Afghanistan. It is significantly older and has been repaired multiple times in its years of use. It shows a reddish oxidation similar to that of Herati bronze. There are two small oil lamps from the early 20th century, a small heavy bronze vase with a hole (older) and a small balm holder from around the turn of the 19th - 20th century. Two pestles, not belonging to the mortars, are also included The original patina remains on the items. All items will be carefully packed and shipped with insurance.
