Polychrome Porcelain Wine Ewer and Warmer with Floral and Auspicious Decoration
China, Qing dynasty, Tongzhi mark and possibly of the period (1862–1874)
A finely decorated porcelain wine ewer within a warmer, enamelled in vibrant polychrome over a rich blue ground. The surfaces are painted with alternating panels of floral vine scrolls and reserves featuring bats and scrolling lotus, combining auspicious symbolism with refined decorative balance.
The bat motif (fu) is traditionally associated with blessings and good fortune, while the lotus symbolizes purity and spiritual harmony. The contrast between the vivid enamels and the deep blue ground reflects the decorative richness characteristic of late Qing porcelain production.
The base bears a Tongzhi reign mark, possibly of period.
