武士刀 - 钢, 玉鋼 - NBTHK 保蔵刀剣 - Kanemoto (兼元) - 脇差 - 日本 - Muromachi period (1333-1573)

NBTHK Certified Koto Wakizashi in Edo koshirae Era of blade: Late Muromachi Period (around 1570 AD) Signature: Kanemoto (兼元) Nagasa (cutting edge): 57,5 cm Sori (curvature of blade): 1,8 cm Width at the Hamachi : 2,6 cm Width at the Kissaki : 1.65 cm Kasane: 6.0 cm Nakago: Ubu Mekugi : 1 Kinshimagoroku Kanemoto of the Seki school was a swordsmith (tosho) active during the Eiroku era (1558–1570) in Mino province. His Fujishiro rating is Chu-jo saku (excellent quality). He is believed to be the son of the very famous Magoroku Kanemoto (兼基) classified Saijō Ōwazamono (最上大業物; "Supreme Grade"). This famous family of swordsmiths is renowned for their exceptional sharpness and distinctive "three-cedars" (sanbonsugi) temper pattern (hamon). This Koto balde is well built and preserved. The hada with intense activity typical of the Muromachi period is evident, however it has two defects, although not fatal, on the Ura side: there is a "Shinae", a superficial crack in the metal structure (ji-nie) and further down a "Fukure", an internal bubble or air bag that emerged during forging or polishing.
Neither of the two defects is considered serious for collection purposes and in fact NBTHK considered it valid as a certificate. They are flaws that can appear in a blade over 450 years old but they are not very aesthetic and I invite you to evaluate them before purchasing. The Handachi style koshirae is a beautiful example of the taste and aesthetics of Edo period. The modern mounts are silver, including the beautiful habaki, but the iron tsuba with a mokko-gata motif dates back to the Muromachi period and is an important collector's item in its own right. The blade rests in a shirasaya with sayagaki and the koshirae holds a wooden blade (tsunagi). Enjoy this magnificent and historic collectible sword! Attachments: - NBTHK Hozon Tōken (Sword worthy of preservation) certificate issued May 24, 3rd year of the Reiwa era (May 24, 2021). Serial number: No. 3026383 - Two silk bag, one for the shirasaya and one for the koshirae Shipping: We shipping with reliable couriers such as FedEx, UPS or DHL. --- ATTENTION !!! --- - PLEASE CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE PHOTOS TO ASSESS ITS CONDITION - - We only ship to the European Community, thank you for understanding -
