Antique Sèvres style porcelain portrait plaque depicting Louise de la Vallière (1644–1710), the first official mistress of King Louis XIV of France.

The plaque features a finely painted portrait set against a rich celestial blue ground with gilt detailing, in the classic French Sèvres manner.

Mounted within a black lacquered wooden surround with a gilded brass cover, suggesting it was originally part of a decorative object such as cabinet, or piece of furniture.
