Junghans Mega 1 - NOS (New Old Stock) - Full Collector's Set - World's First Radio-Controlled Watch - 1990
Description:
A Landmark in Horological History:
We are proud to present an extraordinary opportunity for collectors: a Junghans Mega 1, the world's first radio-controlled wristwatch, in pristine NOS (New Old Stock) condition. Launched in 1990 and designed by the legendary Hartmut Esslinger (founder of Frog Design and collaborator with Apple), this watch is an undisputed icon of 20th-century industrial design and technology.
Technical Specifications & Condition (Safety Clauses):
Condition: NOS (New Old Stock). The watch is unworn and has been kept in ideal storage conditions for over 30 years.
Reference: 026/0013.00 (Sandblasted Anthracite PVD finish).
Movement: Radio-controlled (DCF77 signal).
Case: Matte anthracite PVD finish, flawless with no signs of use.
Strap: Original Junghans leather strap with integrated radio antenna. As this is a NOS piece, the strap remains flexible and shows no cracks or aging. Please note that the antenna is a technical component of the strap; therefore, the strap is specific to this model.
Display: Digital LCD. (Note: As a vintage electronic item, the original battery may need replacement; sold as a historical collector's item in its original state).
The Ultimate Full Collector’s Set (Triple Boxed):
This lot is unique due to its completely preserved original packaging and accessories:
The original Junghans Mega 1 watch.
The white original Junghans presentation box.
The original cardboard outer box with matching barcode and reference 026/0013.00.
Original price tag (499 DM - Deutsche Mark).
Original plastic technical hang-tag.
Original instruction manual and warranty documents.
Important Note for Bidders:
This is likely one of the best-preserved examples of the Mega 1 currently available on the market. The item is sold "as is." Due to the nature of radio-controlled technology, time synchronization depends on the proximity to the DCF77 signal transmitter (Mainflingen, Germany).
