White Boy is a comic book series by American Garrett Price (1896-1979) published in the Chicago Tribune and other American newspapers in the form of a Sunday half-board from October 8, 1933 to August 16, 1936.
During the first two years of the strip, White Boy was a young white American who lived among the Indians with his domestic cub Whimper and his companion Chickadee at the end of the 19th century. "Intriguing, incredibly well-drawn and often madly imaginative" according to Bill Blackbeard, the series then alternates independent gags, semi-didactic stories about Indian life, and original adventure stories].
Beginning April 28, 1935, the strip was renamed Whiteboy in Skull Valley. The characters in the first version all disappeared except White Boy, renamed Bob White and associated with a new heroine, Doris Hale].Price draws in a less realistic style but the adventures remain varied and original].
From April 19, 1936, at the end of the strip four months later, the series was renamed Skull Valley and its main character became the owner of Ranch Nan. The stories were then unoriginal independent gags. Price then stopped the comic strip to devote himself to illustration, notably at the New Yorker[The pages are in good condition, although wrinkles, tears, flaking and missing pieces may occur.
