Omega - Speedmaster Chronograph LCD [serviced] - 没有保留价 - 186.0009 - 男士 - 1970-1979

Omega Speedmaster Quartz LCD – Ref. 186.0009 – Cal. 1620 – 1979 – Excellent Condition – Long Bracelet – Men A highly collectible Omega Speedmaster Quartz LCD, reference 186.0009, from the fascinating late-1970s period when Omega pushed the Speedmaster line into digital territory. Public collector references place this model around 1979 and identify it as part of the rare LCD Speedmaster family powered by Omega cal. 1620. For vintage watches, condition is everything — and that is exactly why this example stands out. Most surviving LCD Speedmasters are found with heavily worn cases, damaged or scratched crystals, tired displays, or generally poor cosmetic presentation. This one is different. The condition is excellent. The watch has not been polished and has not been restored, preserving the honest factory lines and original character collectors want. Even more importantly, the glass is clean, with no scratches, no mistakes, and no visual damage, which is exceptionally difficult to find on this model family. Simply put: it is almost impossible to find these in this condition. The reference 186.0009 belongs to the unusual and increasingly appreciated digital branch of the Speedmaster story. Collector documentation describes the model as an LCD Speedmaster with functions such as calendar, chronograph/lap timing, and light, housed in a compact stainless-steel case from Omega’s late-1970s quartz era. This watch also benefits from an important historical angle. While this exact retail reference should not be described as a NASA-issued flight watch, the LCD Speedmaster family is directly related to Omega’s Alaska IV development. Fratello notes that in 1979 Omega created Alaska IV for NASA, and that it was based on the 1977 Speedmaster LCD models, with digital versions sent to NASA for testing. Specialist historical sources on the Alaska IV project likewise describe NASA testing of these digital Speedmaster-based prototypes, before the manual-wind Speedmaster remained the preferred choice. That link matters to collectors. This is not a gimmick watch and not just a curiosity. It is part of the broader technical and historical experimentation that connected Omega’s digital Speedmaster program to the NASA-oriented Alaska IV project. It represents the same design and development family that Omega explored for space and shuttle-era use before the manual-wind Moonwatch tradition continued. This example is fitted with a long original bracelet, suitable for wrists up to approximately 21 cm, making it especially attractive compared with many surviving examples that have short bracelets or missing links.
