A small Chinese blue and white Kraak porcelain 'Floral' klapmuts bowl. China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644, 大明), Wanli period (1572-1620, 萬曆), late 16th / early 17th century. Similar examples are preserved in Princesshof Museum in Netherlands and other collections. Finely potted of a very thin, snow-white porcelain with a flattened lightly barbed rim, round walls, supported on a short rim. Very well painted in strong cobalt blue, the central roundel painted with a flowering peony, followed by oval reserves with flowers alternating with tassels. Two further auspicious symbols alternating with 'Toatie" masks' under the flared top-rim. The exterior with four jewel-filled ovals and four narrow panels of stylized "lingzhi" sided by vertical lines. Glazed conical base, unglazed foot. Typical for period radiating marks around the foot-rim. Dimensions: diameter - 10,2 cm; height - 4,7 cm. Weight - 59 g. Daylight pictures included. Conditions report: very well restored restored chip, shown on pictures. Drilled hole in the foot-rim. Possible small restored chip to the top-rim. Typical for period firing faults.
