As with its big brother Glenfiddich 40 Year Old, the first edition of the 30 Year Old was created in the 2000's from a blend of several casks. This version of Glenfiddich embodies a unique combination of time, talent and tradition. For over thirty years, David Stewart, former Glenfiddich Malt Master, along with Brian Kinsman, his then apprentice, have tasted each cask precisely, ensuring the quality of this exceptional liquid before the first official bottling in 2007. Since Brian took over as the distillery's new Malt Master in December 2009, he has been responsible for maintaining the quality of this wonderful 30 year old single malt. CONCEPT It focuses on suspended time, the moment when our Malt Master suspends the development of the whisky with the decision to bottle it, capturing the whisky at a precise moment in time as the most perfect expression of a Glenfiddich aged 3 decades. 30 years of maturation, careful nurturing and rigorous selection of the right whiskies that go into each bottle. MATURATION Glenfiddich 30 Year Old is a minimum 30 year aged whisky made from a blend of whiskies aged in ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks.
