Elegant antique carved wooden chair, featuring a highly sculptural and visually striking structure. The design is defined by flowing, curved lines, with an X-shaped base and a seat composed of arched slats.

The backrest is richly decorated with elaborate carvings and displays a central medallion depicting Dante Alighieri, a highly characteristic motif of 19th-century Neo-Renaissance taste. This iconography evokes culture, intellectual prestige, and Italian historical identity.

The armrests terminate in finely carved zoomorphic heads, representing fantastical creatures inspired by lions and Renaissance grotesques. These elements traditionally had an apotropaic function, symbolically protecting the owner, while also enhancing the expressive power of the piece.
