A silver (.950) tea strainer with hand-pierced bowl with intricate design, made by Louis-Isidore Angée France, 1834-1842 Purity mark on the outside of the bowl: Minerva head in octagonal frame for 950/1000 purity (see second to last photo). Maker's Mark on the handle: "LIA" monogram with a funeral urn symbol (see last photo). A flexible wire handle designed to hook onto the spout of a teapot. It filters tea leaves as you pour.
