One of the most classic ashtrays is a famous example of Danish minimalism. Design: The ashtray was designed by architect Arne Jacobsen. The idea behind the design The vision with Cylinda-line was to create a complete series of service for the home and bar, where all parts fit together in a rigorous, industrial look. Functionality: The iconic tilt function (the hemisphere with the small stick) is intended as a practical solution to hide ash and shutters with a single push, which also helps to minimize odors. It also made the ashtray incredibly suitable for outdoor use on the terrace table or in outdoor cafes. Industrial elegance: At the time, stainless steel was a modern material, and Arne Jacobsen wanted to elevate it from everyday use to high-end design that could replace the more maintenance-intensive silverware.
