French Silver - 盒子 - 由 Adolphe Frontin,巴黎——博览会参展者,与卡地亚有关联的大师,约1900年
Elegant, richly chased French silver box from the turn of the 19th–20th century, crafted by the Parisian master Adolphe Frontin.
Likely a small pill or personal box, used for storing tablets or small personal items; based on its form, it may also have been used as a snuff box.
The lid features finely detailed repoussé floral ornamentation with a central monogrammed cartouche. The craftsmanship reflects the high standards of French silverwork of the period.
The piece bears the French “Tête de sanglier” (boar’s head) hallmark, confirming silver purity (800), along with the maker’s mark.
Adolphe Frontin was a notable Parisian silversmith:
his work was exhibited at international expositions,
pieces by him regularly appear at leading auction houses such as Sotheby's, Christie's and Bonhams,
and he is documented as a supplier to luxury houses including Cartier.
This places the present piece within the production of a recognized and auction-listed Parisian master.
Condition: good, with minor signs of use
Dimensions: 5 cm × 2.2 cm
Weight: 30.3 g
A particularly interesting piece for collectors, originating from a Parisian workshop connected to the luxury industry of its time. A rare opportunity to acquire a finely crafted object of this quality and provenance.
