This antique telescope is a four-draw example and leather-bound spyglass, made by Bywater & Co. Bywater & Co. were prominent nautical and mathematical instrument makers based in Liverpool, England. The firm was active primarily between the 1860s and the 1890s when Liverpool was a major maritime hub, and firms like Bywater & Co. specialized in providing high-quality navigational equipment, including telescopes and sextants, for the merchant navy. The telescope body is in good condition, leather is in very good condition and it comes complete with original cap. Optics work but clarity is not great.
