Powerful carved serpentine stone ceremonial hacha featuring a prominent anthropomorphic figure in profile. The piece displays a large stylized head with incised facial features, open mouth, and headdress elements, integrated with a broad blade and solid handle. The dark greenish-grey serpentine stone has a beautiful natural patina with lighter mineral accents that highlight the carved details.
Ceremonial hachas of this type were high-status ritual objects used by Taíno caciques (chiefs) in the Dominican Republic. They symbolized authority, ancestral power, and spiritual protection during important ceremonies.
