Substantial Byzantine bronze signet ring with a large, slightly irregular oval bezel and robust hoop. The bezel shows traces of engraved or incised decoration. The piece has a characteristic dark green patina with areas of lighter oxidation, typical of excavated Byzantine bronzes.
Rings of this type were commonly used in the Byzantine Empire for sealing documents, as personal identifiers, or as devotional objects. They represent everyday elite or administrative metalwork from the Middle Byzantine period.
