UNIQUE VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH FROM THEODORE AVRIL (Swiss watchmaker)

Movement: Working, no test if keeps time , with key.
Case: gold palted, with many gem (white, red and other colours) stones, beautiful enamel with a lady, double brass case
Dial: Beautiful Signed painting dial white color
Hands : Yellow steel with stones
Size: about 45 mm
Weight: 110 grams
Age: circa 1780 (244 years old !!!)
Antique item in very good condition for its age.
Watch with double brass case, with many stones (not sure if they are precious), some stones have already come out, case with many applications in gold and silver. Dial signed by Theodore Avril, movement also signed by Theodore Avril. Clock around 250 years old, in working order and very beautiful. Authentic collector's watch.

Master watchmaker Théodore Avril born around 1681 as the son of Guillaume Avril (ca 1640-1708) and Jeanne Gallay (1640-1702) . Avril married Marthe Catherine RITTER (1683-1743) on July 8, 1704 in the Temple de Madeleine in Geneva. From this marriage came Louise Avril (1705-1705) , Guillaume Avril (1706-1774) , Antoine Avril (1707-?) , Jeanne Susanne Avril (1709-1709) , Jeanne Françoise Marie Avril (1711-1770) and Marthe Catherine Avril (1712-171) born.
Théodore Avril worked as a watchmaker in Geneva at the end of the 18th century . He became a business partner of Gédéon Martin around 1738 . Jean Guigneur (Guigner) and Auguste Prêvost joined the company Avril, Guigneur & Cie. which existed until 1750 . Théodore Avril was married to Marthe Catherine Ritter (1683-1743) on July 8, 1704 in the Madeleine in Geneva. Daughter Jeanne Marie-Françoise Avril (1711-1770) married the watchmaker Jean-Gédéon Audéoud (1712-1774) on Sunday June 4, 1741 in Geneva. Jean Gédéon was a son of the watchmaker Frédéric-Pierre Audéoud (1664-1738) .
According to the auction house Dr. H. Crott probably also worked as a watchmaker in Paris, France. As royal watchmaker, he was responsible for the clocks at Fontainebleau Castle during the reign of Louis XV.
Théodore Avril died on September 13, 1761 in Geneva
