A Japanese silvered bronze / white metal box, late 19th / early 20th century. Of rectangular form, the cover is finely decorated in relief with a powerful dragon among swirling clouds and waves. The sides are further decorated with engraved scrolling details. The piece has an attractive aged patina, with traces of silvered finish remaining over the bronze / base metal body. A decorative and collectible Japanese metalwork box, suitable for collectors of Meiji-period style metal ware and Asian works of art. Condition: in excellent antique condition.
