In contrast to the white, noble old man (Shiroshikijo playing the role of Okina), the Kokushikijo mask is a dark, tanned, commoner-looking old man with a sparsely toothed smile and a "kiri-jaw" structure in which the jaw moves with a string, and is associated with the actions of plowing the fields and sowing seeds.
