青铜大模铸币，属于天保通宝系列，江户晚期发行，作为幕府缓解经济困难的措施。呈现中国特色的椭圆形中空方孔结构，受中国铸币传统影响。正面以竖向书法粗犷的“天保通寶”铭文，背面标示价值“當百”（相当于百文），并附有下部的风格化标记。该件铸造浮雕清晰，文字细节锐利，表面保留原始纹理，呈均匀的棕色包浆，少量绿色氧化斑点。可见铸造过程中的轻微不规则，但忠实再现了这一在日本前现代广泛流通的货币类型。
