2006 Weingut Gesellmann G 2006 - 布尔根兰州 - 1 马格南瓶 (1.5L)
Wine: Gesellmann "G" (95% Blaufränkisch, 5% St. Laurent)
Vintage: 2006
Vintage Quality: 2006 is widely celebrated as one of the greatest red wine vintages in Austrian history. A magnificent Indian summer with warm days and cool autumn nights allowed late-ripening Blaufränkisch to achieve maximum structural concentration, fine tannins, and an unforgettable deep herbal spice profile.
Bottle Size: 1500ml (1.5 Liters / Magnum)
Bottler: Estate bottled by Weingut Albert Gesellmann, Hochäckerstraße 9, 7301 Deutschkreutz, Mittelburgenland, Austria.
Condition Report
Fill Level: Neck (to maximum Base Neck)
Classification: Flawless. For a 20-year-old heavy red wine, a steady fill level in the neck indicates that the closure has maintained an immaculate seal, allowing the wine to mature with textbook, ultra-slow micro-oxidation.
Label Condition: Excellent (Assuming it matches the pristine status of your cellar, the clean, minimalist black-and-gold "G" label holds fantastic aesthetic and presentation value).
Closure Condition: Excellent (Capsule tight, firm, completely original, and displaying no signs of historic seepage).
Ratings & Critical Acclaim
The 2006 vintage of "G" was heavily decorated upon release and has only gained mythical status among sommelier circles since:
Falstaff (Austria): 94 Points (Note: Given Falstaff’s conservative scoring matrix back in 2011, a 94 represents a towering score for a mature red, praised for its "unbelievable complexity, fine cocoa touch, and minutes-long finish").
International Critics: Reffered to frequently as an iconic "Garage Wine" of Austria due to its tiny production scale and immense density.
Drink or Cellar?
Status: At its Absolute Zenith / Offering a Grand, Fully Resolved Red Experience.
Description: While standard 0.75l bottles of the 2006 vintage are fully mature and showing heavy tertiary development, this 1.5-liter Magnum format is sitting in its absolute sweet-spot prime. The wild, rustic power of the young Blaufränkisch tannins has completely harmonized into velvet. The nose is incredibly multi-layered, bursting with dark forest berries, plum compote, liquorice, sweet wood spice, tobacco leaf, and a distinct hint of graphite and forest floor. On the palate, it displays breathtaking depth and a fresh, lively acid spine typical of Gesellmann's old vines. It is sublime to drink right now (ideally decanted for 1 hour at 16–18°C) but has the structural architecture to hold this peak effortlessly until 2036–2040.
