卖家的描述
Rare early 20th century Waterman “Ideal” Paris safety fountain pen in black chased hard rubber, fitted with its original nib and elegant gold- bands.
An authentic and increasingly difficult-to-find example of the famous Waterman safety pens produced for the French market during the golden age of fountain pens, circa 1915–1925.
The pen features the iconic “IDEAL” globe imprint together with “REG. U.S. PAT. OFF” and “FOUNTAIN PEN” markings, confirming its historical Waterman production. The deeply chased hard rubber body and classic retractable safety design reflect the craftsmanship and engineering of the pre-celluloid era.
Unlike later mass-produced writing instruments, this piece belongs to a period when fountain pens were precision-made luxury objects intended to last generations. Pens of this type were carried by professionals, diplomats, writers and travelers during the early decades of the twentieth century.
The warm aged patina, original surface wear and surviving details give the pen a remarkable historical character impossible to reproduce today.
The 14K nib remains present, and the pen displays beautifully as a collectible object of writing history.
Please note:
* Vintage condition with visible signs of age and use
* Sold as a collectible antique writing instrument
* Exact working condition has not been fully tested
* The photographs form an integral part of the description and show the exact condition of the item
A rare and highly decorative Waterman Paris safety fountain pen — a genuine survivor from the golden era of early fountain pen manufacturing, seldom encountered in this preserved configuration.
