卖家的描述
Fernand ELCHINGER (1911-1975) — 大型彩陶花瓶瓷盘
Stylized birds decorated on a vibrant red background, signed on the base.
Dimensions: H. 6 cm – L. 48 cm – P. 27 cm.
In the STYLE of Roger CAPRON
As a emblematic piece of Fernand Elchinger’s work, this large polychrome earthenware plate captivates with the strength of its graphic design and the intensity of its colors. The artist presents a stylized bird motif with clean black lines, inspired by popular arts and the modernist explorations of the 1950s-1970s. The contrast between the bright red glaze and the almost calligraphic drawing gives the piece a remarkable decorative presence.
Originating from the famous Alsace ceramics dynasty, Fernand Elchinger directed the family manufactory in Soufflenheim while developing a highly recognizable personal oeuvre. His work blends Alsatian artisanal tradition with contemporary aesthetics, in a spirit close to the great French ceramicists of the XXth century. His creations, often featuring stylized animals, abstract motifs or geometric compositions, are today sought after for their timeless modernity.
This plate perfectly illustrates the Elchinger style:
- free and organic forms,
- graphic decor inspired by nature,
- deep and luminous enamels,
- influence of 1950s-70s design.
A strong decorative work, ideal in a vintage, modernist or contemporary interior, can be displayed both as a centerpiece or as wall decoration.
Condition: very good overall with signs of wear, glaze wear at the plate’s support points, small chipping at the tip of the plate — see photos, signature on the base.
Authentic collectible piece.
