水壶 - 铜 - 中东 - Qajar dynasty (1796–1925)
Antique copper ewer (Doltcha), 19th century, Qajar dynasty, most likely Iran.
This traditional vessel was used for serving cold drinks such as sharbat. It is handcrafted in hammered copper, with areas showing silvery reflections indicating tinning, a technique where a thin layer of tin is applied to the interior or surface.
The body is richly decorated with finely chased and engraved motifs, including figurative medallions featuring animals and/or characters, as well as floral and vegetal arabesques. The upper section is enhanced with elegant fluted decoration.
Height: 31 cm
Width: 17 cm
The piece displays a beautiful aged patina. It remains in good overall condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age and use.
