Paul McCartney - Photo, 独家邀请函:巡演彩排与《Oratoria》首映 - 1993 - 带画框

Extremely rare tickets to the ‘rehearsal’-show and Oratorio premiere Well, so you have all things Macca. The albums, the CD’s, probably lots of boxes and maybe even some re-releases and books. Nice. But you do not have this. Highly exclusive and ultra-rare: an invite to a press conference with the man in 1993, culminating in the renowned rehearsal-show. Plus a ticket to the premiere of his first ever classical work, the Oratorio, in the Liverpool Cathedral no less. And to round it off: a real photo of his 1989 tour. All firmly framed. Even after almost forty years, all is in perfect absolute mint condition. No folds, tears, remarks, holes or anything. Unfortunately, the ticket is an exception and faded but still quite readable. The invite looks like a day old. Check the pictures (and my reviews). All is framed loose, so you can take it out of its big 40x30 cm frame. The invite is to an exclusive press conference in the Docklands Arena on feb 5th 1993. Only big international hacks and some very devoted fans were admitted. Paul told us about his next album, Off the ground. He then went backstage for a moment and returned with his band. We were promised a short ‘rehearsal’ for the upcoming New World Tour. What we got was a three hour concert. It got a famed reputation. A rare 1993 UK limited-edition vinyl box set titled "The 1993 World Tour Rehearsal Session" was later released to commemorate the event, containing an interview picture disc, concert photos, and a t-shirt. The internet has loads of info on the concert, with also this remark: ‘Due to the intimate nature of the rehearsal, items from this specific date have become prized music collectibles. Tickets to the event were highly exclusive.’ As exclusive was the event on June 29, 1991. The premiere of his first even classical work, the Liverpool Oratorio. Not only did we get the concert, featuring soprano Kiri Te Kanawa, tenor Jerry Hadley, the Choristers of Liverpool Cathedral and conductor Carl Davis but it was also live recorded for the album. Commissioned in 1991 for the 150th anniversary of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, it is McCartney's first significant venture into classical music. Cast in a traditional eight-movement oratorio format, the 95-minute piece draws heavily on McCartney's own early life and wartime birth in Liverpool. The libretto follows the life of a "war baby" named Shanty, chronicling his childhood, schooling, coming of age, romance, and life experiences. As it was performed in the Liverpool Cathedral, which is no Arena and had to seat the orchestra, choir and equipment, t was a real selective and small crowd. Contrary to the rehearsal above, big fans were not allowed in, as it was a live recording of an orchestra. They could not have shouted requests for A day in the life here..... Both tickets are firmly framed, together with a photo of him during the Dutch concert of his 1989 Flowers in the dirt-tour, the first one in many many years. The photo is a big 20x25 one. Black and white as it was meant for the papers which did not print color then. You will notice Paul does not play the Hoffner bass (which was missing) but a rare five-string bass. As said: all is in mint condition and beautifully framed. Check the pictures. And be advised that these do not do it justice, I cannot photograph the frame without reflections. In real life, the background is, of course spotless black matte carton. It will be preciously packed and swiftly send.
