稀有的手工浮雕抹茶茶碗,黑绿斑点窑釉,艺术家亲笔签名 - 日本 - Shōwa period (1926-1989)
This exceptional matcha chawan is fully handcrafted by a skilled Japanese master potter, featuring rare hand-carved raised relief decoration paired with one-of-a-kind natural mottled kiln glaze.
The exterior is adorned with hand-sculpted interlocking coin medallion relief patterns, each outline and internal detail carved manually before glazing — a highly labour-intensive decorative technique rarely seen on mass-produced tea bowls. A matching single coin emblem is carved onto the bowl’s interior base, forming a cohesive symmetrical design scheme exclusive to this work.
The entire vessel is covered in a dynamic speckled black and forest-green kiln transformation glaze. This organic speckled texture is formed entirely by unpredictable high-temperature kiln reactions; no two bowls can ever replicate this exact speckle distribution, making this chawan a true unique one-off art piece.
Measuring 12.7cm across the rim and 8.2cm tall, the bowl arrives complete with its original hand-inscribed tomobako wooden presentation box. The box lid bears the artist’s brush calligraphy, title “Chawan” (Matcha Bowl), and a stamped red artisan seal, providing full provenance authentication for collectors.
The tea bowl is preserved in perfect mint unused condition, free of chips, cracks, scratches, stains or any signs of prior tea preparation use. Hand relief carved kiln-glaze chawans with intact artist-signed tomobako boxes are extremely scarce within the global Japanese ceramic collector market. Most comparable relief tea wares either lack their original storage boxes or bear visible wear from decades of tea ceremony use.
This piece functions flawlessly as a premium daily matcha tea bowl for Ikebana and tea ceremony practitioners, and also stands as a striking decorative art display piece for collections of Japanese studio pottery. A rare acquisition opportunity for discerning collectors of handcrafted East Asian tea ceramics.
