石头 母神的复制品(以…风格的物件) - 20 cm

This stone statue is a Venus figure, from neolithic Anatolia (8000-6000 BCE) but very similar to the Venus of Lespugue, found in France. The figure displays highly pronounced female secondary sexual characteristics, with enormous, pendulous breasts, an expanded abdomen, and heavily enlarged hips and buttocks. The bodily volumes—breasts, belly, and hips—are carved in a highly stylized, almost mathematical manner, resembling a series of overlapping spheres or ellipsoids. In sharp contrast to the torso, the legs taper sharply downward and the head is disproportionately small, entirely lacking distinct facial features. The arms are carved thin and close to the torso, resting flat across the upper curves of the breasts. The overall structure relies on a strict median vertical axis, offering a balanced composition whether viewed from the front, back, or side. Anatolia and the Near East are famous for producing stone female figurines that share striking similarities with Upper Paleolithic figures like the Venus of Lespugue. While the Upper Paleolithic European figures are roughly 25,000 years old, the tradition evolved and flourished into the Neolithic period (around 8,000 to 6,000 BCE) in Anatolia and the Near East, transitioning from mammoth ivory to highly polished stone. The "steatopygian" form (exaggerated fat deposits on the hips and buttocks) seen in both Ice Age France and Neolithic Anatolia suggests that even thousands of miles and years apart, these early agricultural and hunter-gatherer societies used stone carving to project identical ideals of survival, abundance, and the divine feminine. This figure is 20cm high cx 10cm large x 5cm deep, and weighs 0,742 kg. It comes with a black custom stand. Made of dark stone. Condition : good with age patina. Belgian private collection. BPost shipping with tracking number. Catawiki disclaimer: This object has been dated based on style by the seller . No further tests, such as, a TL test, analysis of metals(XRF-test), lapidary tests, analysis of pigments or radiography scans have been conducted to check the integrity of the piece.
