Exterior decorated with vivid hand-painted overglaze clematis flowers in white, indigo purple with gilded golden leaves & curling vine scrolls, fine black outline defines each petal and foliage; interior features natural flowing ash glaze with irregular mottled marbling effect. Small circular impressed maker’s seal stamped near foot ring. Comes complete with hand-inscribed original paulownia tomobako, box inscribed “Pink Slip Clematis Painted Chawan, Made by Gan” plus artist’s red seal.
