You are bidding on a very fine and rare 1/2 violin, probably made by Neuner & Hornsteiner. The instrument is in good condition with some tears and wears, old repaired cracks on top, bushed peg-holes and repaired nose. The violin has an excellent high to medium grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The whole length of the violin is 530 mm and the back 323 mm.
