A fine molded hearthstone or fireplace brick, measuring circa 14,3cm in length and weighing 1336g, depicting medallions with two busts of king and queen, separated by rosette motifs. The date 1567 suggests that the figures depicted are those of King Phillips of Spain and his wife, in 1567 that would have been Elisabeth of Valois. A similar brick is on permanent display in the Groninger Museum. Condition: Overall good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age and use.
