Attention: 由于海关规定,我们只能在欧盟内发货。下单前请确保您有一个有效的欧盟送货地址。\n\nCeltic La Tène Druidic bronze amulet or pendant with an abstract zoomorphic design. The object has a curved, elongated body with a stylised duck head at one end and an openwork lower section with projecting horn- or antler-like animal head at the opposing end. Complete with integral suspension loop used for suspension or attachment.\nRare type!\n\n-> In Celtic tradition, ducks were powerful symbols closely linked to Druid beliefs as messengers between worlds. Because they move between land (the Earthly realm), water (associated with the Otherworld), and air (the Celestial realm), they were seen as mediators among these spheres and enduring symbols of transformation, stability, and spiritual connection.\n\nIn Celtic and Druidic religion, ducks represented worldly power, divinity, and femininity, and were believed to bring spiritual strength and balance.\n\n-> The form is highly stylised, characteristic of Celtic artistic traditions in which animals were often represented in abstract, flowing, and symbolic forms rather than in strictly naturalistic detail. The curved body and projecting elements may suggest a mythical creature, bird, serpent, or composite animal.\n\nLength: ± 48,2 mm\nCondition: Good and solid condition, wearable. Attractive olive-green patina with minor surface irregularities and signs of wear consistent with age and use. \n\nCertificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request for all lots with a hammer price of €100 or higher.\n\n-> The Celts were a diverse group of Iron Age societies spread across much of Europe, particularly in regions that are now France, the British Isles, Central Europe, and parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Rather than forming a single unified civilisation, Celtic communities shared related languages, artistic traditions, and religious beliefs.\n\nCeltic religion was closely connected to nature and the landscape. Sacred places included forests, rivers, springs, and hilltops, which were believed to be inhabited by spiritual forces or deities. Many objects, such as weapons, jewellery, and offerings, were deliberately deposited in water or other natural locations as part of ritual practices.\n\nThe Druids formed the intellectual and religious elite of Celtic society. They acted as priests, judges, scholars, and advisors, and were responsible for preserving religious knowledge, law, and tradition through oral transmission rather than written texts. According to classical sources, Druids played a central role in rituals, education, and the interpretation of the natural and spiritual world.\n\nBelief in an afterlife or the continuation of the soul was widespread among the Celts, which may explain the presence of grave goods and the symbolic importance of personal ornaments and amulets. Many surviving artefacts reflect both everyday use and spiritual significance, offering insight into a belief system deeply interwoven with daily life.\n\n-> Zoomorphic motifs were important in Celtic art and religion. Birds, horses, boars, serpents, and composite creatures appear frequently on ornaments, fittings, brooches, and amulets, reflecting the close relationship between animals, identity, and belief in Celtic society.\n\n-> Small bronze pendants and amulets could be worn on the body, attached to clothing, or suspended from personal equipment. Their compact size and symbolic imagery made them personal objects with both decorative and possibly protective significance.
