The damage must be reported to your local post office within 7 days of delivery, and promptly to us and Catawiki support. 【Product details】 This elegant creative kokeshi titled Izumino (Spring Field) was created by Fujikawa Shōei (1921–2007), one of the foremost masters of the modern creative kokeshi movement in Gunma Prefecture. Fujikawa Shōei was recognised for his exceptional craftsmanship and artistic achievement with the prestigious Prime Minister's Award, one of the highest honours in the world of creative kokeshi. His works are admired for their refined forms, sophisticated colour palettes, and poetic interpretations of nature. The figure is beautifully decorated with a rich green-to-black gradient that evokes the tranquil atmosphere of a spring meadow. Delicate wildflowers are depicted growing beside clear water, reflecting the title Izumino. The serene expression, flowing composition, and carefully balanced colours create a sense of quiet elegance. A distinctive carved and coloured checkered hair ornament adorns the top of the hairstyle, demonstrating the artist's meticulous attention to detail. The work bears the artist's original label on the base. It is accompanied by the original wooden title plaque bearing the artist's signature and seal, as well as the original storage box. The original paper-covered box shows a small tear. The kokeshi itself remains in very good vintage condition with minimal wear.
