Pair of late Victorian armchairs (c. 1890–1910). Features - Hand-carved crest rail: The floral carving at the top has slight asymmetry and depth that is typical of hand-finished Victorian work. Turned spindle supports beneath the arms are a common Victorian design feature. Turned front legs with castors are consistent with quality parlour and nursing chairs from the late 19th century. The wood shows genuine age-related wear and patina rather than an artificially distressed finish. The side profile has the elegant, slightly reclined shape typical of Victorian comfort furniture.
