Gran Luna is the result of a desire: the desire to push the boundaries of winemaking. Our expertise in viticulture is enhanced by the great diversity of plots at Dehesa de Luna and the technical complexity of our vineyard. The new vintage of one of our winery's most prestigious and award-winning wines, Gran Luna 2018, is now available. A small gem born in the heart of the Dehesa, it embodies a unique philosophy that goes beyond its exquisite aromas: "No matter how difficult the times, there are always joys to celebrate." Tasting Notes: A deep ruby-red wine with intense aromas of ripe black fruit, hints of spice (pepper), and a hint of undergrowth. Full-bodied, silky, and fresh, its fruity expression on the palate makes it a balanced and highly complex wine. A very long finish. Food Pairing: A must-try with traditional dishes such as gazpacho manchego or morteruelo. Also, try it with Iberian pork burgers. Winemaking: The grapes were harvested in 10 kg crates, and a manual selection of bunches and grapes was carried out in the vineyard. The different batches of grapes were kept at 4ºC for 24 hours in a cold room. Subsequently, a further selection of bunches and grapes was made on a sorting table before fermentation. The fermentation and maceration process lasted between 14 and 17 days, depending on the grape varieties and the specific winemaking objectives set for each. Malolactic fermentation took place in new 225-liter French oak barrels. Aging was carried out in these same barrels for 15 months.
