卖家的描述
一件精美手工雕刻的日本根付, depict 翼 perched upon a tree stump, signed Shozan (松山).
Carved from high-quality boxwood (Buxus), this elegant piece captures the alert and lively character of the sparrow through its expressive eyes, natural posture, and finely detailed plumage. The textured feather carving contrasts beautifully with the rustic tree stump base, showcasing the craftsmanship of the artist.
The sparrow has long been a beloved motif in Japanese art, symbolizing happiness, harmony, prosperity, and the beauty of everyday life. The warm natural patina acquired through age further enhances the charm of this traditional netsuke.
An attractive addition to any collection of Japanese netsuke, bird carvings, or traditional folk art.
