Japanese Katana — Nihontō, Mumei A handsome full-length antique katana in a complete, sober koshirae — with a beautifully visible undulating hamon, fine shakudō fittings and powerful Kurikara dragon symbolism. Registered and fully documented. Overview An antique Japanese katana with a full-length blade, mounted in a complete and elegant koshirae and registered with its original Japanese torokusho. A balanced, well-presented piece that works equally well for serious collection or striking display. The blade (tōshin) The blade shows a well-balanced sugata with moderate curvature and a proportionate kissaki. Its standout quality is a bold, clearly visible hamon — an irregular, flowing gunome-midare / notare-midare with strong, well-marked peaks dancing along the ha. It is a lively, characterful temper line that catches the light beautifully and rewards close study. The nakago preserves a deep, dark patina and shows two mekugi-ana, evidence that the blade has been honourably mounted across different stages of its long working life. In keeping with the torokusho, the blade is mumei. Blade measurements TypeKatanaNagasa69.2 cm Sori1.3 cm Mekugi-ana2 Signature: Mumei HamonGunome-midare / notare-midare Registration: Japanese torokusho, Kanagawa Prefecture The mounting (koshirae) The katana comes in a complete koshirae of refined, understated taste. The saya is finished in glossy black lacquer, with a clean, elegant surface; the sageo, in gold and black tones, adds just enough contrast without disturbing the sword's sober character. The tsuka is mounted with white samegawa and black tsuka-ito in a traditional composition, wrapped so the menuki remain visible on both sides of the hilt. Fuchi-kashira — Crafted in shakudō with a deep dark patina and landscape decoration, combining architectural and natural motifs worked in gold and contrasting metal. Shakudō, a copper alloy with a small percentage of gold, is among the most prized of all traditional fitting materials, valued for its rich, almost black patina and remarkable visual depth. Menuki — The Kurikara motif: a dragon coiled around a straight ritual sword (ken), enriched with gold. Drawn from the esoteric Buddhist repertoire, Kurikara unites the dragon with the sacred blade as an emblem of protective power — a particularly fitting theme for a katana, with its direct link to martial and religious symbolism. Tsuba — Circular iron, with restrained decoration and small gold accents; a controlled, classical design that balances the ensemble perfectly. Documentation & what's included Collector's summary A complete, well-balanced mumei katana with a 69.2 cm blade and a bold, clearly visible undulating hamon, presented in a full koshirae of genuine quality: shakudō fuchi-kashira with landscape motifs, Kurikara menuki with dragon and ken, an iron tsuba, and a glossy black-lacquered saya. A striking, harmonious piece — equally at home in a collection or on display. An Authentic nihonto japanese sword, difficult to find in Europe, without the consequent costs of importing from Japan or from Japanese sellers, which can increase the price of the sword by up to 30% and a months waiting for shipment and custom paperwork. A truly real nihonto to delight both new and experienced collectors. All my swords are originals, imported from japan and Europe during many years of collection. All bids are binding, if you are not interested don't let other bidders miss the opportunity. Japanese Katana — Nihontō, Mumei

A handsome full-length antique katana in a complete, sober koshirae — with a beautifully visible undulating hamon, fine shakudō fittings and powerful Kurikara dragon symbolism. Registered and fully documented.

Overview

An antique Japanese katana with a full-length blade, mounted in a complete and elegant koshirae and registered with its original Japanese torokusho. A balanced, well-presented piece that works equally well for serious collection or striking display.

The blade shows a well-balanced sugata with moderate curvature and a proportionate kissaki. The nakago preserves a deep, dark patina and shows two mekugi-ana, evidence that the blade has been honourably mounted across different stages of its long working life. In keeping with the torokusho, the blade is mumei.
