To maintain a solemn, ritualistic tone, figures are depicted with grave expressions facing forward in stiff, formal poses. The figures wear elaborate traditional robes in vibrant colors, such as red, blue, and yellow, which denote their specific social status and rank. This particular piece is notable for featuring an unusually large number of family members—sometimes up to 28 in a single portrait—and may represent up to six generations.
